Raised on a small farm in rural Saskatchewan during the economic depression of the ‘80’s , J.J. grew up identifying closely with the under-dog out-law music movement, his hero’s include Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Steve Earle to name a few.

Voss has been working on and compiling his musical resume his entire life, from playing in and managing bands through out high school to touring Canada in the 90’s as a lead guitarist and on to learning the art of audio production both live and in the recording studio as of late.

J.J. has just put the final touches on his debut album, including three songs written by Voss. Recorded and produced in his own studio with the help and tutelage of some of the best in the Canadian music industry, Voss is incredibly proud of his first effort as a solo artist and is enthusiastic about playing his own songs live.

With over 15 years of live performances under his belt, J.J. has come by his electric stage presence honestly. Performances on the Nashville North Stage for the Stampede in Calgary, the Craven Country Jamboree stage in 2005 and 2008, Canada Summer Games stage ’06 in Regina, Juno fest showcase in ’07 and opening for Duane Steele through out Alberta and B.C. stand out as some of the highlights in his solo career thus far.

With a debut album to promote, 2008 proves to be an exciting year for Voss, he’s building a solid fan base that grows after each show, and little by little is carving his niche. Not too far from country but close enough to rock, J.J. Voss leaves his heart out on the stage after every show.
